I need some outside perspectives. I’m a content creator on the side, focusing on sustainable living. My follower count is growing, and I’m starting to get approached by brands for collaborations. This is super exciting! But I'm facing a real ethical dilemma about what constitutes genuine sustainability writing.
A big fast-fashion company just offered me a decent sum to write a post about their new "eco-conscious" collection. But... it's still a fast-fashion company. If I write about it, am I helping them greenwash? If I turn it down, am I missing a chance to push for better practices from the inside? How do you all navigate these murky waters? Where do you draw the line between paid work and staying true to your values? I’d love to hear how other student writers are handling the pressure of monetization. Help a friend out!
