I just wanted to pop in and share a little tip that helped me when I was first learning English. For the longest time, I was terrified of contractions because they felt like "broken" English. I thought I had to write every single word out properly to prove I knew the language.
But then I realized that avoiding contractions was actually making my writing sound foreign and stiff. My breakthrough came when I started reading my work out loud. If a sentence sounded robotic or unnatural when spoken, I would look for a place to add a contraction. It was like magic!
Suddenly, my writing sounded so much more fluent and natural. So, to my fellow English learners: don't be afraid! Embracing "don't," "can't," and "won't" is a huge step towards sounding like a native speaker.
You've got this!
